Mahnke Consulting | Cost Analysis
Review or audit of cost and pricing data supporting a supplier's proposal results in a superior win-win negotiation.

Cost Analysis of Subcontract Proposals

Defense Division of a Fortune 200
In support of a Termination for Convenience (T for C) proposal, researched forms requirements and discussed unique, high-dollar subcontract T for C issue with the Termination Contracting Officer. Performed an on-site cost analysis of one subcontractor's proposal and a desk-review price analysis of another; incorporated auditable results into the prime contract T for C proposal. Coordinated with client employees regarding tracking and disposition of Government property at subcontractor locations, which affected subcontract proposal costs.

Defense Division of a Fortune 200
Conducted dozens of on-site cost analyses of supplier proposals; developed (hierarchy structured) workpapers with all to/from references and Purpose, Source, Scope, and Conclusion on each; submitted a report, understandable for a Subcontract Administrator and void of complex accounting jargon. Occasionally, supported negotiations for major subcontracts.

Defense Division of a Fortune 200
Conducted analyses of a dozen cost proposals for terminated subcontracts. Led less-sophisticated suppliers through rationales and available options for supporting cost proposals for terminated, fixed price purchases. Obtained approval of negotiation goals, based on cost analyses and negotiated all resulting termination settlements.

Defense Division of a Fortune 500
Conducted dozens of on-site cost analyses of supplier proposals for a California Aerospace contractor. Submitted a report to assist the applicable Subcontract Administrator and, when warranted, spoke with him/her about (non-monetary) “hot buttons” for negotiation with the supplier, which were not obvious. Provided information from the Subcontract Administrator’s perspective, toward win-win negotiations.
